Those pictures have inspired me to get out the watermelon and the carving knife. Wait! I have rules on my fridge... Let me take a look... Nope! Can't do it! Rule #5: Melanie is not allowed to carve anything but brownies or cake. Rule #6: When tempted to let Melanie break rule #5 - get out of the kitchen!

ok, it's 7:25 in the morning, and you have over 20 visits. Wow! Jealous me.

When I was in Jamaica, the hotel I stayed in did these amazing fruit sculptures. But I don't remember seeing Van Gogh in a watermelon. :)

Yup, I wish I had talent like that. Closest thing I ever did to that was, I once carved a white pumpkin to look like Pinhead (from Hellraiser) for Halloween.

I have been here for awhile, but have been unable to comment because blogger was irritating. Those are beautiful photos. Did someone go on cruise or are they learning technique for carving?

Isn't it amazing what people can do with fruit? Artistic people are amazing and I always love watching the cooking channel to see the SUGAR competitions.
